‘Accurate Results for Patient Care: Workshop 2017’

Second announcement

The JCTLM biennial meeting is being held at the BIPM in Sèvres near Paris on 4 and 5 December 2017. The meeting takes the form of a workshop that looks at a wide range of global initiatives to reduce between-method variability to support improved clinical outcomes and patient safety. Interaction between the speakers and the audience will be a feature.

The first day of the programme focuses on ‘Traceability in Action’ with a review of global structures and consideration of the impact on patients, the diagnostics industry and EQA provision. The second day looks to ‘Traceability into the Future’ with consideration of biomarkers of neurodegenerative disease and wide-ranging reports of new initiatives from across the world.

The workshop is open to all individuals and groups with an interest in traceability and method standardization/harmonization. These include laboratory medicine specialists, EQA providers, IVD manufacturers and national metrology institutes. Participants will be able to display posters of their work to share with peers and experts. The registration fee is just € 65 to cover catering and administration with the option to attend a dinner (at extra cost) during the evening of Day 1.

Details of the programme, the preparation of posters and on-line registration may be found at: http://www.bipm.org/en/committees/jc/jctlm/workshop-2017.html
